Audi TT 2014

The third generation Audi TT is in testing phase since couple of weeks and has already been caught test driving several times. New facts on the new TT-RS model have been found online today. The third generation TT sports car will return to its real roots and its design will once more be stimulated by the original concept which was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show 1995 with some contemporary explanation. In accordance with an unofficial report, the U.S version of TT will be powered by a 2.0-litre four cylinder engine and it will further be powered by a Volkswagen Group’s EA888 turbocharger and direct-injected fuel delivery technology. It is the same engine that was added to the Beetle Turbo 2013.

In the standard version, this 2.0 Litre Audi TT engine will generate a total of 220 horsepower. In order to boost up this horsepower to 300hp, the S version will be assembled with an extra turbo to generate a total of 300 horsepower. There are also rumours that the TT-RS version will continue to carry a five-cylinder engine which is further polished to generate a gigantic 380 horsepower with an increase of 20 horsepower over the current generation’s 2.5 litre five cylinder engine.

The all new TT-RS will also be equipped with both front and Quattro all-wheel drive systems to further enhance the driving experience. The Coupe version of Audi TT RS is expected at the end of this year and the Roadster will be open for sale a few months later. The new Audi TT will be built on Volkswagen’s new MQB transverse platform, the same which has been used on new generation of A3 but a bit lighter than current generation. Other changes include the exterior tweaks such as six corner single frame grille and very smart angular headlights. Wheel arches are further refreshed and are more prominent, shoulder lines are also more rounded.
