The Audi A6 is a favourite saloon for luxury buyers and it faces a strong competition from other automakers in the same class but this time, the fight comes from its own home, i mean Cadillac CTS, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Audi A7 is one of its toughest contestants and even the Audi A4 is there with great affordability. The A6 is powered by 2.0 Litre four cylinder engine which generates 220hp of power and you can opt for a continuously variable transmission or front wheel drive versions with the same engine. If you do not like this than go for an all wheel Quattro drive in the Audi A6. The four isn’t that much slow either with zero to 62 miles per hour in just seven and half seconds. It has its top speed of 130 mph which is good enough. Even the CVT transmission is a conventional automatic box but it delivers its best with an exclusively available Sport mode, paddle shifters and simulated ratios but eight-speed automatic and Quattro combination is best in class with 2.0T engine. A6 TDI engine with 240bhp delivers pure efficiency and if you opt for a six or eight speed automatic then you will notice a massive difference in swiftness, it covers the 60 mile per hour speed mark in just 5.5 seconds. Fuel economy isn’t bad with a 38mpg on average. Further higher on the power scale are supercharged six and turbocharged eight cylinder engines. Supercharged V6 delivers 310hp and it is paired with an all wheel drive powertrain and eight-speed automatic that reduces the sprint time to 5.3 seconds from zero to 60 mph. On other hand V8 turbocharged engine sits under the bonnet of S6 with seven speed s-tronic transmission and it delivers a further refined performance and excitement.
