The date of new Audi A4 launch has not been disclosed yet, but it is assumed that it will not before the middle of this year.

It won’t be an exaggeration if we say that the A4 is one among those models which made Audi the hot cake for executive class. It is evident from the 324,995 in the first quarter of 2014. It’s not just the new platform or the update in styling, that is the base of Audi’s claim to beat the rest of the junior executive class models from the rivals, but it’s range of highly efficient engines that Audi is introducing to its line-up in 2015.

The words are out that Audi is going to launch the saloon first while the rest of the variants, the Avant and Allroad will be launched soon afterwards. To accommodate the newly designed platform and chassis, Audi A4 has been widened a bit whereas the height and the length remains the same as of current A4.

Like all other new cars, Audi has also tweaked its engine lineup for better fuel economy and unmatchable performance. The best part is the introduction of cylinder shut-down technology which basically cuts the fuel supply to help bring down the emissions and consumption. This technology is featuring in the 1.4, 1.8 and 2.0 litre TFSI petrol engines whereas one of the two – 1.6 and 2.0 litre – TDI engines ought to offer the same technology to bring the emissions to 100g/km.

As the green cars are trending these days and people go for electric hybrid vehicles, an electric plug-in hybrid model is all set to become the next darling. It is going to utilise the same petrol-electric powertrain which you have seen in the A3 e-tron earlier, but unfortunately, the range of this electric-only vehicle would be no more than 30 miles which is for some odd reasons, is a shame.

All of these A4 models are going to use either a six-speed manual gearbox or a nine-speed automatic system backed by all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive as an option.

The price of these wonderful cars has not been made public yet, but it should start from £24,685.
