2015 Audi A3 Charging

The Audi A3 line-up will be introduced with very different tweaks and Audi has planned some big things for the A3 in 2015. The reason behind this venture; Audi A4 which has increased in its size and price over couple of years and created a big gap at the bottom of Audi’s line-up for a new saloon, thus the A3 will be converted to saloon for 2015 for US markets. There are different plans for the A3 with a diesel, convertible and high performance S3 also in line.   There will be a plug-in Hybrid in 2015 and two power sources are planned for the new Hybrid A3 including a 1.4 Litre four cylinder turbocharged engine which gives 150 hp and 184 Lb-Ft of torque. An electric motor will be there to assist the engine with its power of 204 horses and torque of 258 Lb-Ft. All this power line up will be mated to Audi’s S-Tronic transmission with six gears and dual clutch to transfer the power on front wheels. Audi A3 after all these refinements will scoot from 0-60 miles per hour in 7.6 seconds.   Battery pack consists of 8.8 kWh lithium ion batteries that power the motor from under the rear seats without hurting any cargo space in A3. If you feel that you have less space then you have an option of folding rear seats for extra luggage space. The weight of the batteries has been kept to a minimum; facilitating the A3 e-tron weighs in at a very practical 3,483 pounds. In the plug-in Hybrid cars, weight plays a vital role and helps its efficiency. Audi A3 will likely have a range 31 miles while fully electric and 584 miles in hybrid mood. The all new A3 will start at fully electric mode and Audi says, it is very efficient car for city driving.
